Sunday I took part in the first Fritton Off Road Dualathon. Fantastic day in glorious sunshine. Hard going and a bit muddy. Happy with my times considering i'm a total knacker at running. I even managed 12 place in the transition timings :-)

Happy Smiles before the start

My first medal since the fitness regime began

Just completing the first bike lap

Managed the whole race without stopping :-)
Coming in to T1

53rd place overall. Heres the splits and details of the race. Will definately do it next year.

So, felt pretty good after all that. Fastest time 50 minutes, slowest just under 2 hours.
1hr 18min for me

Calf muscle a bit sore today but my legs are definately coping with the running a lot better now.

Got away from work early today and managed a 27 mile ride before it got dark

Also logged 2000 miles on Boardman Britpak. I'm now 3rd place nationally on mileage & 2nd place for time on bike.

Dualathon day

So, second dualathon day and feeling good for a PB. Elastic laces & a transition plan should see me shave off 4 mins there, plus my bike riding is speeding up. Hoping for a 1.20 today.

Only one problem, bloody mega freeze last night and the roads are like a skating ring so dualaton cancelled. Next one will now be the Friton off road dualathon on 26th Feb.

Much training this week???

Wednesday, swam 60 lengths in 50 minutes, fastest ive done. Breast stroke still though.

My new Garmin Edge 800 bike computer arrived, love it. Wish i'd bought the bundle pack with the extra maps though as it's now going to cost me shitloads more for them.

Did a 13 mile cycle saturday & a 26 miler today, nearly had a big off when i hit a pile of slush though. Heres the routes.

Tour of Qatar - win for Cavendish

Cycling back on eurosport with the Tour of Qatar. Happy days for me, not for the other Baxters in the household though.

Started reading David Millar's autobiography 'Racing through the dark', great book, one of those that hooks you straight away.

So, training wise. Did a 2.5 mile walk on Sunday, deep snow & wife in tow equalled the shorter distance.

Took the mountain bike out on sunday, rode 10 miles, deep snow, nearly ended up in the river a few times

Manager happy for me to leave off at 3pm once a week so i can knock out a mid week ride. So, turbo trainer in the shed. Did an hours ride this afternoon, 13 ish miles. Will be able to go further as the daylight lasts longer.

Bike computer packed up yet again so just ordered a Garmin Edge 800, can switch between bikes as well which will be handy

Struggling to upload pics with the ipad so heres a link to my facebook album from Sundays fun

Saturday 4th Jan

Blimey, a week since my last post. Havent done too much during the week though.

Wednesday 1 hours swimming

Today - Park Run, no pb today & then a 16 mile bike ride. Knee & calf held up well today, best yet so hopefully getting better conditioned now.

Weather is not good at the minute, freezing today.

3.5 mile walk tomorrow then a 15 ish mile mountain bike ride hopefully.

Planning an early leave from work once a week so i can do a 2 to 3 hour ride.

Tour of Qatar starts tomorrow so will be good to watch some tour cycling again. Just wish it was summer here.
