Tour of Britain 2012

Been a pretty good week, helped by a turn in the weather to something summer like.

Still no running due to ankle issue but upped my cycling as Great Barrow Challenge is now only 9 days away, really looking forward to that.

Bit of a full on weekend. Couldn't sleep yesterday so up at 7am rode the Tour of Britain route, Hoveton to Norfolk Showground. http://www.mapmyride.com/routes/view/133836573
Then spent the rest of the day digging at the allotment, fitting doors & strimming grass.

Today, up at 4.30am as had to get to Bungay to help marshall Waveney2 Triathlon. Good day & well done to all competitors. Then it was a quick dash (via McDonalds) to the Norfolk Showground to watch the finish of Tour of Britain stage 1.

Got 3 miles from showground & traffic was backed up along the southern bypass so drove on to near Barnham Broom, where i had rode up a cheeky hill the day before. Stuck the car in a hedge, got out the Union Jack chairs & relaxed, waited for the boys to arrive

I stuck my phone on the floor & recorded their arrival. Hedgehog view.

Love the build up to a cycle race arrival, great buzz with the anticipation & then the speed the entourage & cyclist come past.

Heres a few pics. Loads more in my facebook album https://www.facebook.com/#!/media/set/?set=a.10151157523054695.475327.826854694&type=3

I'm on the telly :-)

Fat bald bloke in yellow T-shirt is me, not one of the cyclists
I have done training this week as well

Monday - 91 min bike
Tuesday - 2 mile bike
Wednesday - 2 mile bike & 60 min pool swim
Thursday - 2 hour bike
Friday - 2 mile bike
Saturday - 3hr 45min bike
Sunday - Rest day ?

New PB on my swim Wednesday. Managed 1.27 miles front crawl in an hour. Made my pace a 46.32min/mile. My swim pace has dropped from 62min/miles at the beginning of the year. Going to get swim coaching over winter to keep improving that.

Right, 40 winks time.

Happy Training
